LTD-01: SQUANTO - ON BEING LUMPY
The second Squanto album, recorded from October 2010 to June 2011, and released September 2011. Mostly recorded in the dorm room I was living in at school in Rochester, NY, with parts also recorded back at my parents’ house during breaks. Sean Kelly from Great American Thunder Bison played the drums on “The View From There,” and I played the drums myself on “For a While” but they were still Sean’s drums. For both songs the drums were recorded at his house.
Songs about being cooped up in a small room all winter and realizing that you’re getting older, that you have already been getting older, and that you will continue to get older.
Released in an edition of 50 numbered, handmade CD-Rs, housed in 4-panel cases from Stumptown Printers. Covers are handprinted with a linocut that I made of the view from the window of the room where most of the album was recorded. I accidentally stabbed myself in the hand while I was making it and had to get stitches, so my blood is in this one. Tracklist and credits are stamped on the inside, and on the back is “ON BEING LUMPY BY SQUANTO” in letter stamps. Music is served on an all-white CD-R decorated with a stamp of a panda, sitting on its fat ass and hating itself. Each copy is numbered in pen on the inner fold. Pictures of the packaging are on the bandcamp page.
